Our music video for DMA’s The End took out three awards at the Clipped Film Festival in Sydney last weekend.
The only clip to win three awards, The End won Best Video NZ, Best Director NZ and Best Cinematography.
Clipped Film Festival is Australia's premiere Music Video Festival, that happens annually as part of Vivid Sydney.
A beautifully cinematic clip that’s narrative driven, The End odes to loneliness and the power of human connection, following several strangers over the course of one evening.
The End is director Bill (WAM) Bleakley's debut music video, the second clip he directed - Guillotine for DZ Deathrays, was also a finalist in Clipped's top 50 internationally.
Bill’s short films A Birthday Party and Last Man Standing have screened at film festivals internationally, including Cork Film Festival, Sheffield Documentary Festival and Sydney Film Festival. Last Man Standing was a finalist at Tropfest in 2018, and A Birthday Party won the Dendy award for Australian Short Film in 2017.
Cinematography was done by Australian DOP Grégoire Lièred and the piece was produced by Curious’ Kesha Robertson.
The End is Australian band The DMA's latest single and will go live in early July.
