LANCE KELLEHER / BIOGRAPHY

DIRECTOR'S SHOWREEL

BIOGRAPHY

Lance is drawn towards working with adventurous, inventive creatives, regardless of the scale of their budget or script. He has directed some of the most visible TV commercials for Australian audiences, including the epic Nutrigrain series for JWT, and last year’s ‘Continental Shift’ for Heineken and Bates Asia.

He recently completed a spot for Telstra BigPond and BWM, which is currently on-air, inspired by the action film Jumper.

While the visual ‘wow factor’ has been a feature of a lot of Lance’s best work, Lance is primarily attracted to good ideas, irrespective of their scale. His recent campaign for Yellowtail with Cramer-Krasselt in New York demonstrates the diversity of Lance's talents. Shot elegantly in black and white, it’s an example of pure storytelling stripped of large-scale VFX.

Lance’s success has allowed him to work with the likes of Andrew Lesnie, cinematographer for Lord of the Rings; Grant Major, production designer for Lord of the Rings & Fellowship of the Rings; and Darius Wolski, the DOP for Pirates of the Caribbean.

He began his career as a news editor in New Zealand, fast establishing a reputation as one of this region’s top directors. After moving to the US in the late ’90s, he created a long list of iconic spots for Cadillac, BMW, Dodge, and Lexus.

Back home, Lance has directed major campaigns for agencies Saatchi & Saatchi, M&C Saatchi, Euro RSCG, and Ogilvy & Mather for their premier brands Toyota, Qantas, Orange, and BP Castrol.

Lance remains highly sought after in overseas markets where he is represented by incubator films in the US, Bandits in Europe, and The Garden in Canada.
